Mental Illness - Everyone's problem - Break the stigma

In my opinion mental illness is every one's problem. The more we ignore that fact or disagree with it, the Bigger the stigma attached to mental illness gets and the harder to break. Making those in need afraid to seek the help they need and want, that will help them pursue a gentler, kinder, loving, healthier, successful quality of life.

Mental illness is exactly that, an illness, like many other illness's, if treated appropriately many of those suffering can live healthy and productive lives.

What are you doing to help break the stigma?

  1. By posting my arts, poetry and thoughts on my Bipolar I hope to show people we aren't the stereotype many think we are. We produce beautiful art work, great writing, can and do lead as good a life as we can. Hiding in the dark isn't going to change things. We have to move into the light to show ourselves. As hard as it is shining the light onto our situation I think it's worth it.

  4. Hi Meddling, Your welcome, I just found out my yearly domain hosting payment lapsed, so no one can see it anymore. Bummer, I didn't get a notice, but since I started it in 2010 I don't know it they have my updated info. I think I clicked on the option to pay yearly and not automatically. I'm working on a new one, on WordPress where I did start a blog not too ling ago. I may go back to Blogger, but going to give WP another try. Here is the link: http://deconstructingmyillusions.wordpress.com/
I'm eventually going to add everyone's link again. I tried WordPress before, but I found it harder to use, since then it's gotten easier. I hope you will visit (:
