Healthy and positive things for you to do

Practicing self care by doing healthy and positive things for you.

I believe for the most part that we truly want to take care of ourselves, but sometimes, depending on our present state of mind or circumstances, it can be easier to think off than to do. 

As a simple reminder to myself and those who may come across this post, I have listed a few healthy and positive things that we can do for ourselves. These are things that in general, we are aware of but, quite often can take them for granted. 

Go for a nice 20-30 minute daily walk. If daily sounds a bit overwhelming start of with 2-3 days a week first.

Register for a class at your local zoo or botanical gardens just for the sheer joy of it.

Get a manicure, pedicure or massage.

Use that gym membership card that has been collecting dust in your draw. If it has been a while since you worked out, start of slow.

Try a new recipe and cook yourself a delicious healthy meal.

Meet a friend for a cup of tea or decaf at the local cafe.

Go to the park find a nice spot where you can do some catching up on your reading, bring a blanket your favorite book or magazines or simply enjoy nature.

Make a gratitude list of all the things in your life that you are grateful for.

Buy a new planner, or a nice wall calendar to keep track of your appointments such as annual check ups etc.

Smile more.

Dance more.

If you are not able to get out for the day, there are always things you can do at home such as: setting a side a few minutes of meditation, stretching exercises, bubble bath, inspirational reading, writing and gardening or take out that blender that has been sitting on your kitchen shelf and invite some friends/ family over for some smoothies.

I love to learn new and simple ways to practice self care so please feel free to add to the list and share with us the healthy and positive things you do.

I had surprise visit from little nephew and niece, Owen and Miley ~ they are 2 and 3 and we had a delightful time with paper and crayons and some appropriate music ~ they created, laughed and even my little Yorkie had fun and my brother, Carl was laughing as well ~ so good to take care of your self with loving people who support you and love you ~ ^ _^

  3. I find that doing something for others makes me feel good! Volunteer at the local soup kitchen, sit with a chemo patient during treatment, read a story to an ill child.
