Achieving inner silence - quite the mind

"Sometimes it's harder to attain inner silence than outer silence. The dog stopped barking and the kids have gone to bed, but your mind has a lot to talk about and it knows you can't pretend you're not at home." - Linda Solegato

When you feel like your mind is going a hundred miles in hour, first and foremost...Be gentle with yourself. There are things you can do to help you settle down and quite your mind when the noise becomes to much to deal with.

Here are a few things that can help:

1 - Share your thoughts with someone like a friend or relative. Sharing and talking about your feelings, thoughts and emotions can help you clear out some of the clutter in you head. It can also help you release tension and feel more at ease.

2 - Write it down. If you own a journal use it, if not perhaps consider starting one. This suggestion also aids in releasing tension, as well as helps you put things into more of a perspective by actually seeing your thoughts in writing.

3 - Pick up an inspirational book and start to read, and if you enjoy tea, a soothing cup can help you relax as well.

4 - Get moving or as I like to say " change a thought, move a muscle, " try some some power aerobics, go on a long walk, or maybe you need to get the shopping done, this would be a good time to head out and do it.

I try to practice these tips to the best of my ability, of course there are time I fall short, but for the most part, there also have been many instances where I have successfully implemented them and have experienced the positive benefits.

Would love it if you would leave me a comment sharing what you do to help you quite your mind when it has a lot to say.
